il 19 ottobre 2002, nel chiostro secentesco
dell'ex convento dei Paolotti, divenuto sede del Seminario
nel 1816 (v. storia in Luoghi), è
stata inaugurata la nuova sede dell' Archivio Diocesano di Conversano
(ADC), dell'Archivio Capitolo
Cattedrale (ACC), e della
Biblioteca Seminario Vescovile (BSV)
di Conversano.
L' ADC
(Archivio Diocesano di Conversano) inizia il suo percorso storico dal sec. X
(ottobre 901) con oltre 400 pergamene già pubblicate (901-1397).
L' ACC
(Archivio Capitolare Cattedrale di Conversano) parte dalla metà del '400 con 4
antifonari in folio, manoscritti e miniati.
La BSV,
(Biblioteca del Seminario Vescovile) fondata nel 1703, data il suo patrimonio
librario dal '500. Recentemente si è arricchita dei microfilm di documenti
manoscritti su Conversano presenti in Archivi e Biblioteche italiane ed
europee.
É dotata di una collezione di
mineralogia di oltre 4000 reperti provenienti da quasi tutte le parti del
mondo.

Within the XVIIth century cloister of the former Minim
convent, which became the town’s seminary in 1816 (read the historical
account in Luoghi), the new site of
the Diocesan Archives of Conversano (ADC),
Capitular Archives of the Cathedral of Conversano (ACC) and
Library of the Episcopal Seminary (BSV)
of Conversano was inaugurated on October 19, 2002.
The ADC (Diocesan Archives of Conversano) date
back to the Xth century (October 901) and contain more than 400 printed
parchments (901-1397).
The ACC (Capitular Archives of the Cathedral of
Conversano) originated in the second half of the XVth century and include
four antiphonary sheets, manuscripts and miniatures.
The BSV (Library of the Episcopal Seminary) was
founded in 1703 owing to its valuable book collections originating in the
XVIth century. The library has recently been enriched by the addition of
handwritten documents on microfilm concerning the town of Conversano, which
are still preserved in libraries and archives throughout Italy and Europe.
It also houses a
mineralogical collection of over 4,000 pieces from almost every part of
the world.
